Let´s color...Let me grow

Let´s color a bird, let´s color our world, let´s be creative, let´s have fun, coloring should be that, should involve creations, knowledge, selfknowing, not only a homework, a classwork, something boring, unfortunately teachers sometimes do that, because they have to complete a program, they also have evaluations, and that comes from the students development and knowledge, perhaps that´s why in kindergarten coloring become an absolutely boring, homework. i start this activity with the kids of prekinder in Mdre Pilar Izquierdo, but i realize, the are coloring everyday, so i choose doing something different, we make a rainbow, first we did it with legos and them we pass to the color, know let me tell you something, every color have a story, friends, and family, for example, color pink is so gorgeuos and have family the mom is color red and the dad is color white, you mix them together and you make a beautiful PINK. this actually work, and it was fun, most of all for the kids, because they were laughing and speaking of it. so with all this you realize, or at least i did, that social service involve growing (which i didn´t know) intectual and spiritual, not only because you´re helping but also because you´re becoming part of something bigger than yourself.
And the people you work with, or teach (as in my case) thanks you with the product they make, or at least with a smile on their face when they see you coming!.....

out of the CHARCO

Once upon a time....that´s the beginning of a cute story that involve been creative, not my creation but theirs, why i did this?, ´cause it fun when you create the story when you change, modify, put your own word and ideas on it, this story not only gave me the chance to know them a little bit more but also gave me the chance to realize we can make a change, not doing the same all over and over, we have to be creative, let the kids talk , pay attention and i believe that not only they are going to talk but also they are going to teach you with the stories they create, this let us out of that CHARCO and let us also "be in the river" of a road call life!..been creative make you think different from other people, i know this not only teach them for their developement, but i have learn so much for them that i can thank enough. well, to the readers of this blog, i hope i can share even more of my experiences with the kids but i hope my reflections make a difference.....

my little plant

ok i know it takes time for me writing here, but i´m not wasting my time i front of the tv right now, so my social work at Madre Pilar Izquierdo, my kids or students (as you prefer) are amazing jejee...but i realize they are not in touch with the nature so i needed to be creative and i brought at classes a little plant, and i explained to them, how this beautiful thing of nature grows, and i propuse them to take care of the plant that i gave to all of them that day, i was amazing because they started ti ask so many question about how much the plant care about the love and caring you could gave them, and how can they do to let them reproduce and be alive. it was interesting for me looked this reaction in them. i realize something evrytime you invest a little bit trying to explain something to others you actually learn from them, you think your teaching but seen those kids been interest about something that we consider superficial or normal, cause me curiosity, how simple things create better questioning, how can someone be surprise over a little thing!...it amazed me!...but all of this taught me something else...i was trying to let them be responsible for a life, i think i did it, cause this days they care about the plant, they even (if i´´m not directly watching) talk to the plant jeje..and told it about their families and friends and also teachers sometimes, this little plant create not only learning from me and them but also a way to create communication and let the emotion flow, like therapy..but better and easier..and cheaper jeje.....

proving the mr shirky theorie

the moment i saw this picture i realize mr shirky talk about our need to consume..from there a decide turn off my tv for two weeks..and use my time for write on the blog, read some useful information, share more time with my pets and family..find the time to do something, not just wasting my time in front of the tv..losing so many hours of resting, producing or reading. this is my second day sinces i took the decision i have real good expectation for this challenge and i think i gonna make it...sooo cheers for me jejejeje!

let´s play and learn

on wednesday 17 june, me and the kids, with their teachers, play el gato y el raton in a different version, it was fun, but i realize the teacher doesn´t like them to do that, she likes them to be on their chairs all the time, but it was a fun morning, then we even practice playing with our hands and feets, putting on this a little bit of english, which is not bad, i just hope next time they let me direct and class activity, it was fun for the childrens, i can say they enjoy it, besides it give me the opportunity to realize the truth about helping and contribuing with knowledge because, they play and learn at the same time, which dosen´t happen in classes with the teachers of the daycare

social service...long time no see you

i know that i haven´t done this at the right time, i forget that i need to write this here, but here it goes, my social action not only involve my woirk with children teaching them in a daycare center, but also involving them with the nature, making the teaching process fun and entertainment, i believe that´s the hole point, enjoying their chilhood as much as they can.
since 15 of june 2009 i have been involve an helping on a daycare center on Atarazana call Guaderia "Madre Pilar Izquierdo", i work with kids from 3 and 4 years old, i love them, spending time with them, their kisses and hugs, change my day, even when i come tired for my job, i spend 2 hours every monday, wednesday, and Thrusday. it´s fun and i love it. i also have a planification, i will upload it later because i have to scanner the documents first, i have teach them a little bit of english,not so much because the institution not allow be doing it.

Reflection about the Cognitive Surplus

when i saw this video, and after the teacher explanation, i finally realize how much we can produce and be helpful for others, not only hoping that somebody else thus something for us. we can be original enough to concive an excellent product and sharing it with others, this will contribute to their knowledge, and we will become a productive human being for our society.

this video makes me realize that a need to change my habits, wasting less time in from of the tv and producing more for others than reasting too much.

i think i have always been an producing and sharing human being, trying to do it better for others, contribuing that will be my key word.

my social action, have let me to realize how important is to do something for others, better than nothing our spending my free time in front of my plasma or sleeping, or resting. better than that i spend my time, enjoy and helping little child on a daycare center
